The Prophetic Power to Transform
One of prophecy’s most important features is its transforming power. Prophecy can alter fates, reroute lives, and change people’s hearts.
Prophecy gives hope to the hopeless, confronts the complacent, and uplifts the weary.
Prophecy can comfort people by reassuring them of God’s plan and presence during uncertain times. Prophecy can revive communities and nations, mobilizing people to work together for God’s purposes.
Prophecy also gives the church the tools to deal with complex and transitional times. It offers a roadmap for the future, direction for making decisions, and inspiration for the purpose. Prophecy can bring life into dead bones, announce freedom to prisoners, and herald the establishment of God’s heavenly kingdom on earth.
God intends for His people to live lives that exalt Him and His desire for a close, personal relationship with them, which is the foundation of prophecy’s purpose and power.
Prophecy aims to create a people who know their God, hear His voice, and answer His call, not only to predict the future. By accepting the prophetic, we become receptive to the Spirit’s transformational work and become change agents in our environment.
